Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Hair Inspiration Not to Miss
A Forecast of the Hottest Hairstyles Straight from the Runway!
From bedhead braids to chic chignons, this year’s fashion weeks in New York, Paris, and Milan all revealed gorgeous and original hair. Even better, many of these styles not only make a statement on the runway, but can translate into cute every day looks for women that aren’t 6′ tall and styled by a team of beauty professionals.
Marchesa at New York Fashion Week: Hair stylist Renato Campora created braided hairstyles that were feminine and ethereal. Braids are not only super in style for 2013, but also an easy way to get your hair out of the way as the weather heats up.
Balenciaga at Paris Fashion Week: Guido created a soft half up look accented by a metal hair accessory. This look is super chic and easy to recreate at home.
Just Cavalli at Milan Fashion Week: These whimsical waves made quite a statement at the Just Cavalli show. What added charm to the look was how the waves were effortless and undone. If you have a crimping iron in your arsenal it might be time to bust it back out!
Ports 1961 Milan Fashion Week: Wella Creative Director Eugene Soleiman created this elegant side pony for a show at Milan Fashion Week. With heels and a cocktail dress, this look is surprisingly simple and sleek.
Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week: The models at the Louis Vuitton show reveal how much a simple accessory can do for an overall look. This simple headband makes this model’s look irresistibly sweet.
Chanel at Paris Fashion Week: This loose knot at the nape of the neck accented by a single pearl shows us that understated hair can make a huge statement! Paired with a clean middle part, this style is sophisticated as well as soft and feminine.
Valentino at Paris Fashion Week: Once again, Guido creates one of his chart topping ethereal looks with this loose chignon for Valentino. While it seems like a simple messy bun, the dramatic side part and lower placement of the bun add a glamorous edge.
Pucci at Milan Fashion Week: This simple style has a retro feel with the full bang and middle part. It may be retro, but this hairstyle, created for the Pucci show at Milan Fashion Week, is timeless, sexy, and effortlessly chic.
Rachel Zoe at New York Fashion Week: Odile Gilbert created this rock n’ roll hairstyle, reminding us that hair doesn’t have to be tortured smooth and straight. The playful texture and messy pancake braid reveal that a “bedhead” doesn’t always need to stay at home.
Suno at New York Fashion Week: We see yet another gorgeous hairstyle by Odile Gilbert at the Suno show at NYFW. This loose, twisted updo is not only romantic but also edgy. What’s great about this look is that it can be paired with a flirty dress or a motorcycle jacket and ripped jeans!
We’re reminded every year that fashion week is not just about the clothes! Fashion weeks from New York to Paris and Milan not only reveal stunning hairstyles, but also forecast the hair and makeup trends for Spring and Summer 2013. From the rock n’ roll urban style at the Rachel Zoe show to the ultra romantic chignons at Valentino, this year is going to be another inspired year for gorgeous hair!
