An informative site with lots to see, videos, tips, discussion forum, FAQ’s and more. Below is a comment from a loyal user of CURLS products . . . most likely, this is something you curly girls can all relate to!

My Hair Woes…Until CURLS

I come from a multiracial background (Black, Caucasian, & Mexican). I was born with curly hair, but back then wearing my natural curls out was not an option. So, my Mother started having my hair pressed when I was very young.

I would be so in awe of my straight, pressed hair always wishing that it could last forever. During my early pre-teen years, my Mother decided to let me get my hair chemically processed for the first time. As, she allowed for me to get a curly perm put into my hair. I thought that it was cool to have and my mother thought that this would be a breeze for me to maintain. However, having a curly perm in my hair was truly a nightmare.

I didn’t know hair care for black hair and, in the end, the chemicals from the curly perm actually ended up breaking my hair off badly. My Mother decided that the best thing for my hair would be to get it relaxed. She bought a home relaxer kit and applied the relaxer to my hair. I was amazed at just how straight and manageable my hair had become once again so I kept on having my hair relaxed for many years afterwards. However, what had initially started out being a good thing for me eventually turned out to be bad. After several years of non-stop relaxing of my hair, my hair really started to suffer. Also, in order to keep my relaxed hair looking smooth, I needed to use a lot of heat on my hair. The constant use of heat from flat-irons and hair dryers, combined with the relaxers in my hair, just kept causing my hair to go through breakage cycles.

After much thought, I decided to finally stop abusing my hair and start to really show love towards it. I decided that I finally needed to start embracing the natural hair that God gave me. I ended up transitioning away from chemical relaxers and embraced my natural curls. When I first started transitioning though, I was at a loss. No one that I knew had gone through the transitioned before. Needless to say, I went through a variety of bumps in the road. The products available on the market were either too drying to my hair or just sat on top of my hair and left it greasy and limp looking. So, I finally decided that I couldn’t just keep spending money on products that really weren’t improving my hair while I was transitioning. That’s when I decided to look to CURLS for help.

I emailed the owner of CURLS, Mahisha Dellinger, with lots of information about my hair problems. I let her know that I was transitioning and I needed so much help! She emailed me back with a quick reply, actually within a matter of a few hours! I decided to give the CURLS products a try after seeing how passionate and caring the owner of CURLS was to my problems. Shortly after I started using the CURLS products that Mahisha had recommended for me, my hair started changing for the better and I began to feel more comfortable letting my natural curls be.

My curls had taken up a truly new look and feel to them. My natural curls looked softer, felt smoother, looked more defined, and stayed moisturized 24/7. I have been using the CURLS line of products for 3-1/2 years now and just wanted to share with you my GREAT find! My curls look shiny and gorgeous and my hair is in better shape than any time I can remember. The product is natural with ingredients in it like certified organic aloe, barbadensis leaf juice, certified organic coconut milk, and certified organic flaxseed oil. I’m no scientist and am not sure what all these ingredients are for, but they work! It’s lightweight and leaves my hair feeling moisturized, healthy and in control. Just wanted to share my find with other curly hair girls out there, who are struggling and haven’t found anything that works for them.

Give them a try; don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
