    Summer Hair Color Trends 2020

5 Smart Hair Color Trend Strategies This Summer

Choosing the right hair color for summer 2014 is critical based on two reasons: 1) it enables you to create stunning looks with less effort, and 2) it also determines your summer hair care routine. But what if I told you you can hit two birds with one stone? Indeed, it is possible to look chic by finding the right hair color that will suit your desired look. Hence, we have put together a guide that will help you pick from the hottest summer hair color trends 2014 to stand out and nourish your hair health at the same time.

    Copper

If you have naturally rich and warm copper hue of your hair, summer 2014 is your time to shine. Hair and beauty experts insist that this hue is one of the hottest this season. It is also an ideal hair color to sport if you are looking to try out the wet hair trend. Additionally, redheads have always been head-turners. But if you are not a fan of a deep red, then copper is a good option because there is a hint of red, but not too dark as to bring forth too much attention to it.

    Sunny Blonde

The sunny blonde is the perfect choice for summer because it makes your blonde hair color look as though it has been naturally darkened from sun exposure. It is a bit more edgy than a beach blonde, though, as it tends to be somewhat darker. However, the look is really natural and is recommended for blondes who want to go a bit darker on their hair’s natural hue.

    Multi-Tonal Color

The multi-tonal hair color is recommended for summer 2014 because it works on almost all skin tones. It is the perfect combination of blonde, red, and brown rolled into one. However, the most striking feature about a multi-tonal color is that not one of these colors are dominant.

    Monochromatic Blonde

Bright blondes are also drawing a lot of attention this summer. However, if you are skeptical about the idea of bleaching, don’t worry. There are newer processes that provide a high-lift effect that will not be as damaging to your hair as a bleach. The process is designed to lighten the hair color base without stripping away the warmth of the color. This color is most flattering on women with lighter skin tones. However, you should refrain from turning your blonde into something ashy or too light.

    Pastels

Thanks to celebrity risk-takers like Kelly Osbourne and Nicole Richie, hairstylists have seen a huge surge of clients taking the plunge in the hair color department. And there is no better time to explore with pastel hair colors, but in the summer time. The fact that these celebrities are showcasing their bold colors on the red carpet has also made these looks multi-dimensional.

How To Get Smooth and Silky Hair

How To: Humid-Resistant Straight Hair in the Summer

You’ve seen those models in shampoo commercials? Yes, the ones with smooth and silky hair that is stick straight hair and also comes with a glossy sheen. If you thought those models are born with it, then the advertising people behind them has got you wrapped around their pinky. Even though waves are the fad lately, we’ve all had those days wherein we dreamed of having smooth and silky hair. It takes patience, the right products, and good techniques. However, the hot and humid days of summer might add extra challenge when trying to style your hair straight.

Below are some of the essential styling techniques you have to keep in mind so you can have straight hair that resists humidity:

    Straight Smooth and Silky Hair

    It starts in the shower

Unless you are born with super sleek and straight hair, you need to use a lot of heat to submit your hair into ultimate straightening. This, however, can be extremely damaging to your hair. A good shampoo and conditioner can, therefore, address these issues. Preferably, buy your shampoo and conditioner from a salon to ensure the quality, as well as to insure it is free from sulfates. If you can find a production line that specifically caters to keeping your hair smooth and straight, go for it.

A good straightening balm is your friend

Using a straightening balm or smoothing cream is the best way to achieve sleek but straight hair. It also provides an additional layer of protection on your hair against heat damage; hence, you can use them on your hair prior to using your heat styling tools.

    Dry your hair thoroughly

Make sure that your hair is completely dry before you step out into the hot, humid weather. When your hair has some moisture left in it, it becomes extremely prone to frizz and flyaways when comes in contact with heat or wind.

Work with your hair in sections

It is important that you work your hair in sections if you want to achieve smooth and silky hair that can bust humidity. This ensures that every bit of hair is dried completely. In addition, you can work on every strand so they are more likely to stay straight. It will take you more time to dry and style your hair, but it will be worth the extra effort.

    Simultaneously dry and straighten hair

When you dry your hair, avoid clipping the section of hair that you just dried. This could leave dents and waves in your hair, which you do not want. Instead, immediately use the flat iron on your hair after you have dried it. This will save you time so you can speed up the straightening process.

    Invest in the right brush

As with any form of styling, you need to use a brush as you style your hair. In the case of achieving pin-straight hair, use a paddle brush instead of a round brush. A paddle brush is ideal for curling or creating more bounce to your hair. Using a brush as you style helps the hair settle fairly quickly.

Use a high quality flat iron

If you expect to get beautifully straight hair, you need to use the best flat iron. Go for professional brands if you can afford them as they give the best results. You need to do some research on the most recommended flat irons, as well as the ones that get the most positive feedback.

    Sealing is key

To ensure that your straight hair can fight humidity and stay straight, always use an anti-humidity hair spray to finish off your styling effort. This will give more hold to your hair so they can resist frizz formation caused by humidity.

What is your secret to humid-resistant straight hair?

Easy Braid Hairstyles for Summer 2020

    Braid Hairstyles

    4 Chic Braid Hairstyles

Summer is the time for fun and carefree hairstyles. You don’t want to spend any more time than necessary in getting your hair ready for the day. Wouldn’t you rather spend that time on the beach, playing volleyball, or on a road trip with your friends? Braids are the quintessential hairstyle for busy women who don’t want to sacrifice style.

The braid trend continues this year and are as hot as ever. Braids are a natural go-to look for women with long or medium-length hair, and that’s especially true now, in the heat of the summer.  Braid hairstyles with an undone effect, or those that are a little messy, are perfect for hot days and sultry nights.  Here are 4 simple braid hairstyles that even those who claim to lack braiding skills, will be able to pull off like the pro’s.

    Casual Side Swept Braided Hair

    Braid Hairstyles

This is the perfect choice for women who like to wear at least some of their hair down. For a dramatic effect, start with a deep side part. Take a 1 to 2 inch sections of hair and do a normal 3 strand braid from roots to ends, and tie with an elastic. Or, do a French braid starting at the temple and ending at the nape. You can either softly curl the rest of your hair, or scrunch in texture spray for an undone, messy look. Use a couple of pins to secure the braid underneath.

    Braided Headband

This is a braided hairstyle that has become popular with celebrities and runway models. This braid can look chic enough for red carpet events, or casual enough to be worn at any summer soiree. Take a 1 to 2 inch section of hair from behind one ear and do a simple 3 strand braid from the roots to the ends, tying it with an elastic.  Sweep the braid up and over to the opposite side using Bobby pins to secure it at the nape.

    Simple Braided Ponytail

Of all these simple braid hairstyles, this one is my favorite!  It looks super feminine, it’s easy to do, and showcases those big baby blues. Start by gathering your hair into a high ponytail. For a sleek lo0k, smooth hair back using a boar bristle brush or a fine tooth comb. For a more casual look, use fingers to comb hair up and back into a high pony.  Take a small section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the band. Secure it underneath with pins. Do a 3 strand braid from the ponytail and secure the ends  with an elastic band. For a finished look, mist and smooth with a shine spray.

    One Simple Braided Strand

    Braid Hairstyles

This braided hairstyle has a quiet sense of elegance and again, it’s quick and easy to do.  Do a simple 3 strand braid with a 1 to 2-inch section of hair starting close to the crown and working your way to the ends. You can opt to braid more than one section of hair if you like; your choice.  Adding more than one braid changes the mystique of this look, but that’s the beauty of it . . . you can change it up, you have options with braids!
