The Simplest Ways to Make the Best of 40s Retro Waves Hairstyles

Next time you’re at the Mall and you see a beautiful head of voluminous waves, pay attention to the men she walks by. You’re going to get a lesson in the flexibility that exists in the male neck. As nothing sparks a man’s fancy like the old Hollywood waves look. Stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Veronica Lake, Marilyn Monroe became superstars with this trademark look. These gals of the 40s had a style all their own! No other era quite captures the confident, dangerous, sensuous, sexy, type of femininity that these ladies exuded!

Veronica Lake waves are the ultimate ode to old-Hollywood.

    Clip-in Extentsion Route

To prep for this look, use a 1″ barrel curling iron to curl the clip-in extension (make sure it is heat-friendly if it is not human hair). Then, create a strong side part in your hair and using a 2″ curling iron, create pin curls (curling towards the face) and secure with a bobby pin while completing the next step.

Nest, clip in the extensions at the crown of the head to add allover volume to the lake. Remove the bobby pins that are holding the pin curls in place and brush out hair.  Finish off the look by running some shine serum through the ends of your hair . . . And there you have the perfect Veronica Lake old-Hollywood waves.
