5 Imaginative Ways to Part Your Hair
Part With Your Routine with the Most Popular Parts of the Season!
It’s an easy habit to part your hair the same way day after day, but mixing up your part can be a fun way to change up your style without going to the salon for a haircut or change of hair color. Whether you’re going for sophisticated, bohemian, sexy, or flirty, a part can be a great way to emphasize your style. Mix up your style and keep people guessing by trying out these 5 imaginative ways to part your hair.
The Middle Part
Mila Kunis didn’t just snag the hottie Ashton Kutcher, on the red carpet she’s snagging a gorgeous and classic hairstyle emphasized by a clean middle part. To keep it sleek, try copying Mila’s straight shiny hair. To create a softer look, compliment the middle part with waves. For a part that is nice and clean, try using the long end of a rat tail to create perfect definition.
The Deep Side Part
Nothing says sophistication like a deep side part. Dramatic side parts were all over the runway at New York Fashion Week and are projected to be a major trend for Spring 2013. You can either wear your hair down for a more casual look, or add some elegance paired with a clean low pony tail. To get an idea of where to begin the part, use the highest point of your eyebrow as a gage.
The Messy Part
The “bedhead” is totally in this Spring and Summer. A messy part is a great way to compliment casual waves, rough texture, or an undone updo. Also, if you’re in desperate need of a root retouch, a messy part can help disguise those pesky roots. To recreate, place the long tip of a rat tail comb in the front where you want the part to start, and draw a squiggly line, then lift the comb straight up and let your hair fall to either side.
The Diagonal Part
Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston are both known for loving the diagonal part. Why? Instead of a straight part on the side or down the middle that can divide your face, the diagonal can appear softer with your facial features. It’s also a great option when wearing a hairstyle with more volume. To duplicate, take the long tip of a rat tail comb and place it on the side you want the part to start, drawing a diagonal line toward the center of your head. For more glamour, comb the crown area back and tease.
The Zig Zag Part
Many of us remember ten years ago, when the perfectly drawn, zig zag part was super vogue. Today the zig zag part is still popular in a softer and less defined style. Blake Lively’s relaxed, bohemian hair is complimented well by a more subtle zig zag part. To recreate, place the long end tip of the rat tail comb at the front of your head and make “Z” shape movements back and forth until you reach the back; then, raise it straight up and let hair fall to either side. Don’t worry about making the “Z’s” perfectly symmetrical. You change your shoes and your purses, and if you’re anything like me, you change your haircut or hair color at least twice a year . . . so why not change up your part? Defy your “natural part” and switch up your look with one of these sexy hairstyles!
