What hair color skin tone?

What hair color skin tone can I wear?

Toni asks,
Just wondering, my eyes are green (like cat green). I can wear many colors. It is hard to tell my vein color because I am tan. My natural hair color is light brown but the sun gives it a golden cast which I hate. Can I wear beige blondes or platinum high lights??

Sounds like you lean towards warm coloring with (cat) green eyes, light golden brown hair and sporting a tan . . . lucky you!

“Hair Color
Skin Tone”
In my opinion skin tone is the most significant factor to consider when looking for a hair color that is genuinely flattering for you. I use the word ‘genuinely,’ assuming that you are looking for a hair color that appears more authentic than not.

If your skin tone is more tan than pink I think a beautiful hair color for you would be like this picture of Hayden Panettiere. Hayden has been noted for her stunning ‘cat green eyes’ and in this picture her skin tone is tan.

This hair color on Hayden has multiple tones of blonde high lights, including a darker blonde base that is probably her natural tone. This is my favorite hair color on Hayden; it compliments her tan skin tone and warms up her overall coloring.

In the picture below we see Hayden’s natural skin tone which is lighter with pink undertones. Her hair color here has more gold (warmth) to it and is not as flattering with her skin tone coloring, in my opinion.

The picture below shows lots of cool blonde hair color tones, better than the golden blonde but not my favorite . . . a bit too light.

I also think Hayden would look great in a strawberry blonde color, which would make her green eyes pop even more!

  3. Michelle Sky,
I am pretty sure that you are neutral, which means that you can pull off almost any color.

  4. Hi Bonnie,

It sounds like you have cool toned skin! The greatest indicators are your blue veins and preference of silver jewelry. Want to be sure? Try on a black turtleneck. If it looks good with your skin tone, then congraulations, you have a cool skin tone. On the other hand, if you look washed out, you have warm toned skin. It’s as simple as that!

  5. I’m confused. I was born a caucacian female with grey-blue eyes, sometimes my eyes change colors to blue-green and or geen-blue; this depends on what I am wearing. My skin tone is light and fair that burns first then tans and has no freckles. The veins on my wrists look more blue then green. However, my natural hair color is a medium strawberry-blond. And I can’t seem to figure out what my skins undertone is. I am told I look good with both silver and gold jewelry; but I prefer silver. I can wear most greens, Army Green is a great color on me. Khaki, blues, browns, off white, greys and all soft light pastel colors. So my question is: Am I a cool, neutral or warm and… What other RED hair color SHADES and TONES will best compliment and or suit me? NOTE: I am German (Dads side of family), Irish (Moms side of family) with some Cherokee Indian (My Moms, Dad is Indian). I wish I could send you a picture but I don’t have a digital camera. I will appreciate all your help and support. Thank-you!

  6. Hi, I would like to change my hair color but I’m not sure what color would look good on me… I have a very pale complexion with pink undertones and I have amber eyes. My hair is medium brown which tends to get very light when I stay in the sun for a prolonged amount of time. At the end of the summer, I’m practically blonde. I would like to dye my hair some shade of blonde, but I’m not sure because everyone keeps telling me that it wouldn’t look good on me… Yet I’m sure of the contrary. Can you give me some advice ? Thanks a lot !

  7. Victoria,
Sounds like your hair color is beautiful! I wouldn’t mess with it, especially right before your big day!
If your adament on changing it, a few subtle highlights around the face just 1 to 2 shades lighter might be nice.

  8. Hi, i was wondering what hair color i should get. My graduation is this friday and i cant risk to choose the wrong color. My hair is naturally black, like a jet black almost, but when i go in the sun it looks like a medium brown. My eyes are black also, and
my skin tone is an olive color, and my veins are a green color, i just want a color that will compliment my skin tone.
