What’s Your Best Hair Style if You Have Fine,Thin Hair?
Have Fine, Thin Hair? Take a Look at These Options
Having baby fine or thin hair was once thought of as being the kiss-of-death. But it’s just not true, just take a look at what the right cut or color can do for adding shape, definition and volume!
The inverted bob is a classic haircut for fine hair or thin hair. The shorter hair in back pushes the longer hair in front out and the graduating layers in back stack up for fullness above the occipital bone. This haircut for fine hair gives movement, fullness and an adorable profile.
A short pixie haircut like Haley Berry’s is the perfect look for fine hair. Whether your hair is wavy, curly or straight, a short cut like this is quick and easy to style . . . a little dab of a light gel will mold your hair into a tousled bed-head style, or smoothed sleek look.
A short shag haircut with choppy layers is perfect for fine hair. Wispy, texturized layers allow the hair to look fuller. Use a volumizing mousse and blow-dry upside down. Flip up and flip out ends for extra fullness.
Cropped haircuts make fine, thin hair look thicker. The added length gives weight and bulk to this short cut.
A note about products . . .
Too much hair product is the kiss-of-death for fine and thin hair. Less is always better than more when it comes to using product on your hair type. Stay away from hair conditioners and other products that will weigh down the hair. Fine, thin hair usually looks best when shampooed daily with the appropriate shampoo. Look for a daily shampoo or a volumizing shampoo that will leave your hair ‘squeaky clean.’ The cleaner your hair, the more body and fullness it will have.
There are countless products and styling tricks that promise to make fine, thin hair look more voluminous, but the best way to build volume into fine hair or thin hair is to always starts with a great haircut!

What about long hairstyles for fine, thin hair? Thin hair will look thinner when past the collar bone and just sort of hang there in my opinion. Most stylists I know would agree, but if not, please leave a comment and let us know what you think or suggest!
