The Fashionistas Ultimate Guide 30 Funky Hairstyles!

Not to be Outdone Brits Create Cute Funky Hairstyles

Gotta hand it to our fellow hairdresser’s across the pond, when the creative genes for hairdressers were being distributed, they didn’t miss out on any!

When searching my arsenal of hairstyle news to put up today, I kept coming up with the same old, same old, blah, blah, blah . . .and after all, if I can’t find you something NEW and UNIQUE in the world of hair once in a while . . .

    So here it is and I love it. Pictures from the winner of the”British Hairdressing Awards.”(Now note the word “hairdressing” which highly implies the most extreme of the creatives in the hair business as far as I’m concerned.) The art of “hairdressing” goes beyond the normal “hairdresser” work. You may have noticed”hairdressers” are hard to come by when trying to find someone to give you a great prom updo. In the dressing of hair there is no end to where the imagination can take the artistic hairdresser, especially with so many amazing products and accessories out there now, like nbr hair extensions which give you a whole new head of hair! Here are the funky hairstyles as proof of which I speak;

Short Funky Hairstyles . . . Showing Up All Over Hollywood

    Short Funky Hairstyles

Mena Suvari wore long hair for years, and the only thing that she changed about it was her hair color. So the new short funky hairstyle Mena is sporting these days is about as drastic a hairstyle change as it gets. You may remember her for her leading role in the Oscar Award winning American Beauty, but she has shown a versatility of talent to play a wide variety of roles, such as American Pie and Beauty Shop.

    Mena-Suvari buzz cut

Don’t you love it when women go fearlessly head on into a new short funky hairstyle? (Remember Demi Moore and Natalie Portman?) It’s so gutsy! Just last week, cameras caught Mena Suvari, in her new funky town buzz cut hairdo. She’s back in town to film her lead role in the “Garden of Eden”.

    Charlize Theron

She first showed up in a short funky hairstyle in her role as Furiose in the Mad Max series “Fury Road. Here she sports a boyish side part Ivy League look that is stunning on her.

    Agyness Deyn

Started wearing her hair short while still a teenager and her iconic short hairstyle even have a name of its own “the Aggie”. You know when you have a hairstyle named after you, you’re in the big-time. Agyness looks gorgeous in any hairstyle but she really turns heads when she steps out in one of her well known edgy short hairstyles.

    Natalie Portman

First went short for her role as Evey Hammond in the movie V for Vendetta and she got so much positive feedback on her buzz cut look that she showed up at the Saturn Awards where she received the best actress award sporting her now famous funky short hair style.

    Demi Moore

For her role in GI Jane, Demi had to shave it all off, but still looked terrific, (don’t you think?). It was reported that she hated the look and has never been seen with really short hair since.

Let’s face it… The buzz cut isn’t for everyone, but if you want a funky, quick and easy hairdo, this may just be the funky short hairstyle for you. To pull this haircut off, you need a good self-image, a nice shaped head, preferably thick hair and honestly, a well proportioned body helps too! If you do decide to try one out at home, I wrote a step by step guide to a DIY Buzz Cut that you’ll want to read before getting the clippers out.

Funky Short Hairstyle Trends From Framesi

    Funky Short Hair Style

Can you spot how the Framesi designers have taken a new look into the next, funkier level? OK, so the majority of people may not run to their hairdresser tomorrow asking for one of these funky short hairstyles. But, if you watch closely, the trend that will trickle down, will be a less daring variation on these themes, a more subtle variation.

    Funky Short Hair Style

For sometime now, we have seen the silhouettes of short hair styles become more rounded, more geometrically shaped. The Victoria Beckman (Posh Spice) funky short hair style, was probably the most influential in setting the trend. The basic idea is long layers, shorter in back and longer on the sides.

But here, Framesi’s designer group, takes it to the next level with a more maverick look to it. Strong asymmetrical short hair style shapes, with a layering of hair color techniques, are showing up in both men and women’s funky short hair cuts.

You asked for funky hair styles, so just take a gander at what these hair stylists give you!

Crazy Hair Style From NAHA Hairstyling Awards

I love it! I wait all year to see the novel creations that hairdressers will whip up for the North American Hair Styling Awards. The NAHA Awards Show was held last week at Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the most prestigious photographic beauty competition hair stylists can participate in. Give hair stylists a reason to create some funky hair styles and pair that up with some equally imaginative, photographers. . .And here you have it!

Hair designers from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and Switzerland contended to become the best in a specific category of their choice. These dedicated hairdressers work extremely hard to compete and are recognized with unlimited networking, educational and professional growth opportunity, not to speak of the confidence boost this work gives them.

Congratulations to all who participated . . . And may the force be with you!

So, there you have it! If these funky short hair styles are a bit too “non-conformist” for you . . . it doesn’t mean you can’t change to something comparably new. If you have a creative hairdresser, leave it to them to create a similar, perhaps less daring shape for you.

    3. WOW that is pretty crazy, but you have to give the stylist some massive props because that is pretty amazing talent.

I think I almost like the crazy blonds hair who likes like she’s a torch. I wouldn’t every wear it for real but I think it would be fun to have your hair styled into short funky hair styles like that just to play around.
