Great Hair Styles for Summer Vacation

Vacation season is fast approaching, and while you’re thinking about what to pack for your travel adventure, or how you are going to get to your holiday destination (perhaps you’ll treat yourself to something like NetJets), or where you are going to go (perhaps you might be thinking about going to somewhere like Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan?). Don’t forget to give your hair some attention too. Your summer hair needs to be flattering of course, but it also needs to be manageable. Let’s face it; you don’t want to waste precious time standing in front of the mirror in your hotel room. So, for inspiration, here are five lovely low-maintenance looks.

Hair for Summer Vacation – Waves

Natural-looking, tousled waves make up one of this summer’s top hair trends. Perfect for the beach or any romantic destination, you can achieve this look effortlessly. Before turning in for the evening, quickly and loosely braid your hair. When you wake up in the morning, unbraid your hair and just work in some volumizer – and off to the beach you go.

Hair for Summer Vacation – Braids

Braids are suitable for any vacation destination, from big cities to the remote countryside or beach. Create a charming fishtail braid by pulling your hair back into a low ponytail, securing it with an elastic band. Divide your hair into two sections. Take a thin piece of hair from the outside of section 1 and cross it over to join section 2. Then take a thin piece of hair from the outside of section 2 and cross it over to join section 1. Keep repeating this pattern, and tie off the end.

Hair for Summer Vacation – Ponytails

An even easier alternative to braids is the classic ponytail hair style. This hair style can be made to look as casual or polished as you want, depending on your destination or activity. For a sleek, refined look, smooth back your hair with the help of some pomade and tie in a low ponytail. To add some texture to your hair for a more informal or beach hair look, spritz on styling spray before pulling your hair back, leaving a few tendrils to frame your face.

Hair For Summer Vacation – Headbands

Bright-colored head bands make styling your hair a snap, especially when you’ve partied until dawn the night before, and you have a busy sightseeing day ahead. They also do a fantastic job keeping your hair out of your face on a windy tropical beach. Just slide one on and you’re ready for the day. Head bands come in a wide variety of widths, materials, colors and patterns, and they suit all hair lengths and textures, from curly to straight. My friend was telling me how her Custom Sunglasses were a fantastic accessory to compliment her headband. She tells me it really tied her look together when she was on vacation.

Hair for Summer Vacation – Chignons

Sexy and romantic, a chignon is perfect for wining and dining or window-shopping along a major city avenue. This hair style is quicker to create if your hair is long. Smooth your hair back into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Divide your ponytail into two sections and twist the sections together all the way down. Then wrap the twisted ponytail around the band, tucking in the ends and securing with a pin or two.
