Quick and Easy Hair Styles for the Woman on the Go

By guest blogger Melissa Davis“Quick and Easy Hair Styles Ideas”

For many women today, time and complicated hair styles just aren’t compatible today’s busy lifestyles. But with these surprisingly simple hair styling ideas, you can leave the house looking young, fresh, carefree, and gorgeous in just a few short minutes and with minimal work on your part. Whether you have straight, frizzy, wavy, or curly, hair, these quick and easy hair styles will do all the work for you.

The Straight and Narrow

For most women, getting dressed in the morning can be daunting. With a closet full of turn-me-offs and a hairstyle that won’t cooperate, it’s easy to get discouraged on the way out for the day. But fret no more. The straight and narrow hairstyle is easy, fast, and will have you looking sleek and seek in no time. All you’ll need is a ghd hair straightener, your favorite no frizz serum, and a few minutes. Steam straighten your hair after applying the serum and simply part it on the side. Add a slight curl to the side bang and if desired slip on a head band. A simple one tone silk scarf can substitute for a head band, giving you a classic but smooth and sexy quick hairstyle.

Simple Hairstyles the Messy Bun

The Messy Bun

For those of us with waves, tousles, or unruly hair, we sometimes tend to just let it do as it pleases. Though it may seem overly uncomplicated, the messy bun may actually be the way out. Simply lift the hair into a high pony tail and wrap and pin the loose hair around the pony tail until you have achieved a bun. Though this simple hairstyle alone may appear rushed and haphazard, the addition of a flower will give you that touch of whimsical intentionality that shows that you care about your hair.

The Side Braid

While a tight braid may keep your look too orderly and boring, a looser side braid adds a touch of unpredictability to your quick and easy hair styles. Instead of a rigid, down the center French braid, try simply brushing the hair over one shoulder and twisting the braid more loosely. This allows for a sweeter, less controlled look that still speaks of confidence and style.

Medium Hair Styles Quick and Easy

Hair Styles for Medium Hair

Medium Hair Styles, Some Quick and Easy Tips

If you have a medium length hair style, use these fast techniques to make your hair look like you just left the hair salon.

  • One quick and easy hair style change is to pull it back into a ponytail. If that’s too boring, twist the tail to the ends and the ends with a barrette. For fast wave, mist with water, finish your makeup and return to your hair styling, drying it with a hair dryer if it’s still damp. Takes just a minute or two on a high-heat setting. Then slip out the barrette and leave the band at the base in place, or remove it if desired.

    “Medium Hair
    Style Secrets”

  • To smooth unruly hair with tin foil, loosely roll ten, one-foot square pieces of aluminum foil into tubes. Then wind 1/2-inch wide strips of hair (the top layer only) around each tin foil tube. Fold the ends, so curls won’t unravel. Blow dry curls for 10 seconds each. The foil will heat up fast, smoothing the hair’s cuticle. Remove the foil tubes, shake out your hair and fingerstyle. Lift the roots and take care not to remove curl. For extra style, pull curled hair into a half ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Always use a covered band to protect your medium hair style, finger fluff for a loose, tousled look, This technique works on frizzy, hard-to-control hair and styles it while taming fizz in just minutes.

  • To give medium length hair styles a flip try this: Comb the bottom two inches of your hair with a dollop of hair styling mousse. Using it on dry is fine, because mousse dissipates on its own with a little combing. Next, roll ends upward one-and-a half times, using a round, natural bristle brush. This helps hold hair taut. Aim the nozzle of your hair dryer at the top and bottom of the roll for about 30 seconds per roll. Repeat moving the hair dryer around your head, from section to section, until all of the ends take curl. Finally, lock in the flip with a light mist hair spray.

  • If you have a long front section or bangs, use it to create a quiff, which is a front puff of hair. Comb hair back, part off the front section, twist just the ends and push the hair forward. Clip ends in place. You have a smooth, rounded quiff in front that adds instant volume to those medium hair styles.
